We have many distant yet definitely happy memories of school days with
Chris, especially VI form: discos (as we called them back then), theatre trips
and many others. I have uploaded a happy pic from 1977 of the three of us at
Conisborough Castle larking around on what was meant to be a History trip.
Happy memories of playing cards in the common room, organising days out
and taking out first forays into pubs and nightclubs together. We
were rather in awe of Christine's musical ability and also her level headed
approach and she was deservedly elected Head Girl. Linda remembers enjoying the Summer of 1977 working in Bournemouth
with Chris - we were chambermaids in what seemed to us quite a smart hotel.
Much off duty time spent dancing to Donna Summer in clubs that let us in for
free as we were 'locals'. The afternoons enjoying the beaches and just enjoying
the adventure of being away from home. Hopefully this was some
preparation for Chris going off to C. F. Mott College with Karen to embark on
their teaching careers... Liverpool was a great place to meet people and we shared many good times
and laughs. It was lovely to start a new place already knowing someone and
Christine's parents were always so kind to me, giving lifts across the Pennines
when college broke up for vacations. We made some great new friends and
particularly enjoyed our excursions into the City at weekends as a break from
assignments and teaching practice file keeping. We really liked The Vines: I
remember as the barman never let us use the same glass twice - we nicknamed him
'Hygiene'. Keep getting flashbacks to those school and college days -
accompanied with a smile at the fond memories. Karen and Linda
